Superior Recruitment Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Site Manager to join their large client in Adlington & Sunderland.
The primary function of the Site Manager is to oversee a range of projects in the materials handling sector, including quarries, ports, industrial facilities, renewables, tunnelling and aggregates on UK based and international projects. The Site Manager will support technical projects both physically and remotely, with support from the head offices in Adlington & Sunderland.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversite across multiple disciplines which primarily include mechanical and structural assembly, electrical installation and commissioning, and civil construction and finishing site teams.
• Planning for mobilization
• Coordination of contractor and staff site inductions.
• Ensure necessary welfare and documentation are in place to allow for site works to commence on time, and are adequately resourced in line with project schedules, budgets and deliverables.
• Complete daily and weekly planning (and re-planning as required) of all site based activities, providing progress reports to the Project Manager and Construction Manager and weekly SHE updates, circulated in line with current policies.
• Adhere to the promotion of the ZERO Harm policies and procedures, including CDM and Health & Safety requirements.
• Review and approve subcontractor RAMS, Scope of Work, and Lift Plans; identifying opportunities and mitigating risks prior to commencement at site.
• Collaborate and direct the Project Support team to ensure site deliveries are controlled and sequenced to support installation requirements.
• Creation, management and updating of H&S files and all site CDM requirements.
• Plan and allocation of daily site works including mechanical, civil and electrical works.
• Manage and maintain work schedules, reporting plan v actual progress.
• Issue Permits to Work, Hot Works, Working at Height, and any other site specific permits.
• Daily Site Briefings, Point of Work assessments to site operatives, coordination of any Dynamic Risk Assessments, as required and present weekly toolbox talks.
• Supervising Site Operatives and activities to ensure tasks carried out are within their level of skills and expertise, while compliance to RAMS.
• Facilitate daily team meetings and client meetings effectively.
• Manage requisition and purchasing of equipment.
• Maintaining and auditing of competency matrix to verify operatives are trained in the use of plant and equipment and are using them correctly.
• Ensure that all Goods Received Notes are secured and handed in to the appropriate location.
• Resolve any issues with regards to quality on live sites, as well as sites with active warranty.
• Manage client and contractor relationships.
• Record and manage attendance records/hours of site team, plant used, weather and any delays.
• Define monitor and reports on status of milestones and deliverables.
• Conduct regular site audits and support site and process audits from the wider team.
Education & Experience
• HNC qualified in a technical or engineering discipline.
• Formal site management qualification (CSCS Black or equivalent)
• SMSTS qualification
• First Aid at Work (L3)
• Proven experience as a Site Manager in the construction industry.
• Experience as author or reviewer of key site documents such as Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Lift Plans.
• Ability to understand engineering drawings and specifications.
• Working understanding of steel construction, conveyer belts and materials handling systems, lifting operations, reviewing construction documentation, CDM Regulations.
• Awareness of Health & Safety Regulations, such as: PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, RIDDOR, CDM, Environmental Protection Act etc.
• Knowledge of Construction Methods and Technology
• Ability to travel international
• UK Drivers Licence
• Ability to adapt to different working environments including industrial facilities, quarry’s and large scale construction sites.
• Leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively
• Competent with MS Office applications
