An exciting training opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual passionate about Dermatology to join our friendly and supportive team of nurses and Consultants at MFT. This is a band 6 post with a training programme that will lead to a band 7 role.
The successful candidate will work primarily within Dermatology OPD within the Skin Cancer service. They will work along side consultants and ACP's who will support an 18 month training programme in diagnosing actual and potential skin cancers, and reviewing patients following diagnosis with skin cancer, inform the patients of their diagnosis, and support and monitor the patient group throughout their journey on to oncology and plastic surgery centers. The successful candidate will also provide co-management of the nursing team.
We are looking for a motivated candidate who shares our vision and is willing to support and mentor junior staff and students, and assist the wider team in the development and expansion of our dermatology clinical services.
This is a full time post (37.5 hours per week) and the successful candidate would be expected to work Monday to Friday. Flexible working may be considered on completion of the training. This role requires travel to the four sites of WTWA (Withington Community Hospital, Trafford General Hospital, Wythenshawe Hospital and Altrincham Hospital).
The post holder will be expected to act as a role model to all team members in the delivery of a high standard of specialist research-based care.
The post holder will be trained to ensure immediate care to skin cancer patients and will work within the dermatology service. The post holder will assess plan, implement and evaluate the care for these patients and be able to make informed decisions within their own area. They will provide direct patient care and have detailed clinical knowledge of the specialist areas.
