Job summary The Rehabilitation Engineer Service within our Trust's Adult and Specialist Rehabilitation Division of BCHC is looking to recruit a qualified and registered Clinical Technologist, Healthcare Science Practitioner or Clinical Scientist with significant experience to a Senior Rehabilitation Engineer post with particular responsibilities regarding Healthcare Science training at Associate, Practioner and Scientist levels. The post is being advertised at this time as fulltime i.e. 37.5 hours but other hours will be considered. The successful candidate will be based within one of the 12 Wheelchair Services within the West Midlands. The RE Service is based at West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre 91 Oak Tree Lane, Selly Oak, Birmingham B29 6JA We will be asking shortlisted candidates to complete a presentation regarding the training of healthcare science staff within the field of Rehabilitation Engineering and how they would deal with a trainee experiencing problems whilst training Main duties of the job We require a Senior Rehabilitation Engineer with significant experience in the subject field together with line management. They will:- Support the training of healthcare science staff at Associate, Practioner and Scientist level within the field of Rehabilitation Engineering Create innovative and safe solutions to meet the assessed clinical needs of wheelchair users. These solutions will take into account relevent legislation and follow our ISO13485:2016 QMS Line manage Rehabilitation Engineers and support staff As part of of a Rehabilitation Engineering Team of over 25 staff you will participate in an active CPD and Clinical Supervision programme.
