MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Clinical Care (Direct & Indirect) To maintain an active and complex caseload as relevant to professional registration in line with job plan as determined with SPOA Service Lead. Job plan will allow for balance of clinical / managerial work as required by the needs of the service. To support the day-to-day clinical oversight of the SPOA Service, clinical pathways, coordinating the clinic-based service in conjunction with other senior colleagues and Support junior colleagues with their caseloads management to work effectively, efficiently and creating capacity to take on new cases. To take a lead clinical role across a specified pathway i.e., triage/ screening or Initial assessments or short-term brief intervention To support where necessary in all aspects of the service delivery, referral management, duty clinician, to ensure that young people are triaged and screened into the service or signposted as appropriate, in consideration of risk and urgency. To support and supervise staff, and respond to queries. To assist in the development of CAMHS services within the locality and tri borough including working to an agreed model, developing clinical structures, recruiting staff and operational organisation of the services including all HR matters. To maintain an awareness of complex cases and projects for which allocated staff are responsible and ensure the Clinical Team Manager is appropriately informed regarding cases of particular risk or concern. This role does include carrying a caseload. Ability to flex clinical capacity and skills within the range of pathways across SPOA, as and when needed. To assist with the implementation and review of processes that ensure safe and effective transfer/discharge/step up/step down of service users to and from the team. To ensure that an effective caseload management system is used to manage access to care and treatment, that capacity is managed effectively. To carry out assessments for children and young people referred to the service and to hold a caseload of children and young people offering advice, support and treatment in line with the principles of CYP IAPT and NICE Guidelines. To conduct regular service audits and ensure compliance with action plans. To be responsible for the co-ordination of personnel on a day-to-day basis. Including the deployment and supervision of staff, allocation of referrals as appropriate and monitoring and auditing the quality and effectiveness of service delivery. To delegate appropriate responsibility and authority to team members whilst retaining overall responsibility and accountability for results. To develop and maintain an effective case management service to ensure the care and continuity of treatment is maintained throughout the person's treatment. In addition ensuring high standards of record/case note recording in line with an integrated case note policy. To provide cover for the Clinical Team Manager as required To promote a positive image of the service through self-development The post holder will be responsible to the CAMHs SPOA Service Lead through supervision and appraisal will identify his/her own professional development needs. To provide high quality therapeutic interventions in line with training Communication Dealing with sensitive or contentious information Planning and organising activities Dealing with complex staff issues or work planning/scheduling Assessment of problems that require analysis and/or interpretation Communication is routine, often dealing with complex issues relating to CAMHS referrals involving young people, their family/carers and their community support network
