Overview and Purpose of Role The HR Officer will lead on all administrative day-to-day HR duties, ensuring employee records are maintained correctly and in line with data protection. The HR Officer will support the employee lifecycle, end-to-end recruitment, onboarding of new employees & payroll on a weekly and monthly basis. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn and develop in all areas of employee relations and contribute to employee engagement initiatives to support an inclusive, productive & happy workforce. They will embody and champion our People, Innovation, Partnership, & Efficiency values. Working on own initiative and as part of a team, you will Lead on HR administration to support the employee lifecycle including onboarding of new employees, payroll, employee reward & engagement Initiatives, employee relations & offboarding employees. Be responsible for end-to-end recruitment using the company values to underpin our selection of suitable candidates. Manage the HR system (Northtime), providing training & support to line managers Ensure compliance with HR policies, right-to-work checks, and employment contracts Coordinate careers fairs, apprentice programme, placement & summer placements, creating a pipeline for strong future talent through local colleagues and universities, ensuring Mallaghan is an employer of choice. Produce monthly HR metrics and reports as required. Other duties as required The Ideal Candidate: A minimum of 2 years HR administration experience in a busy HR department HR related qualification or willingness to work towards it. Excellent computer literacy skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Ability to use social media for recruitment, employee engagement initiatives etc Strong communication, planning and organisational skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a variety of tasks. Ability to work as part of a team.
