Who You Are An experienced social worker with over 3 years of post-qualification experience in safeguarding, you are dedicated to promoting and supporting the welfare of children and families. You possess a relevant social worker degree, such as DipSW, CQSW, or a degree in social work, and you are registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). Your expertise is complemented by your adaptability to changing demands and your capacity to think innovatively to enhance performance. What the Job Involves In this role within the Children’s Social Work Division of Bexley's Children’s Social Care Department, you will work within one of the locality teams, handling medium to long-term social work cases. Your responsibilities include assessing allegations of child neglect or abuse, drawing up service plans for children and families, undertaking preventative work to reduce the necessity for care or accommodation, and collaborating closely with colleagues across the Council and external agencies. You will also be required to attend court, prepare and contribute to reports, and participate in training to continually improve social work practice. Skills Proficient in IT systems like CF21 Strong knowledge of the Children’s Act and relevant legislation Experience in writing complex reports Ability to manage caseloads independently Experience with multi-agency collaboration Expertise in child protection procedures Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Capability to supervise and mentor junior staff
