Job Description
Distinguished, mid-sized insurance defense litigation firm is looking for experienced FLORIDA First Party Property Litigation Attorneys (First Party Property DEFENSE experience REQUIRED) to join their TAMPA team.
WE ALLOW HYBRID WORK-FROM-HOME (3 days per week "in office").
Should have substantial experience with FLORIDA First Party Property cases. We handle the defense of homeowner's claims for very reputable insurance carriers nationwide, including hurricane, storm, wind, water, fire, roofing, pipes, and other severe damage to residential and commercial properties.
***IDEAL Candidates have 2+ years experience in FL First Party Property Insurance Defense***
DUTIES:
1. Reviewing and analyzing new files from assignment by the adjuster.
2. Preparing an initial status report summarizing liability/damages and exposure.
3. Drafting pleadings and motions.
4. Issuing written discovery and answering discovery.
5. Taking and defending fact and expert witness depositions.
6. Arguing motions and attending court hearings, mediations, and trials.
7. Regularly preparing comprehensive status reports to the clients.
8. Experience with expert witness depositions and preparing for same is required.
BILLING: We have a far lower billable hour requirement than most insurance defense firms as our compensation is performance-driven. We only require 1,875 billable hours per year to earn your base salary (156 hours per month). We offer a tiered bonus system for hours beyond this threshold and pay out bonuses of anywhere between $1k to $3k each month based on billing tiers above and beyond 156 per month. Our bonus structure is much stronger than most other law firms in FL and our employees love earning more each month for billing above a billable hour requirement that's already far below most other firms.
