Junior Digital Engineer
Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) and Laing O'Rourke, two of Europe's most dynamic engineering and construction specialists, are working together in a joint venture named BYLOR to deliver the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C (HPC) worth over £2.8 billion.

Are you passionate about Digital Engineering? Are you eager to play a key role in supporting digital construction? If so, we have an opportunity to work closely with the site engineering teams to support them to work digitally.
The role will play a key in supporting digital construction processes by managing federated models, producing construction information, extracting data, and ensuring digital tools are utilized effectively. You will work closely with engineering and site teams to drive digital adoption and enhance efficiency.
Key responsibilities and specific accountabilities:
* Federate BYLOR and third-party models into federated models as required by site and planning teams.
* Ensure site teams have the latest models for construction and highlight changes as they occur.
* Update models in response to design, construction, and logistics changes.
* Generate construction information for civil engineering works, such as concrete embedments, temporary works.
* Enrich models with additional information to support downstream processes.
* Communicate with other digital teams to keep specialist models up to date.
* Create resource and material usage reports based on programme.
* Generate equipment lists.
* Validate models and other relevant data inputs.
* Keep relevant dashboards up to date to ensure management and leadership can make data-driven decisions.
Technology implementation and process improvement
* Keep up to date with industry developments, standards, processes, and technology.
* Identify, propose, and develop process improvements based on digital technology.
* Test and trial new technology working together with engineering teams.
* Write documentation for digital processes for approval.
Key Skills & Competencies
* Experience of civil engineering on large complex projects
* 2+ years' experience
* HND in Engineering or above - preferred
* Ability to present to team and co-workers
* Builds an effective team
* Ensures timely decision making, driven off data
* Seeks to minimise waste in resources and materials
* Demonstrates commitment to work to processes
* Inspires, challenges, and motivates others.
* Ability to promote the values of the project.
* Experience of using 2D and 3D CAD packages.
* Relevant Digital Engineering / BIM experience.
Software Knowledge: Trimble Connect, Autodesk Revit, Navisworks
Additional Information:
All positions with Bylor are employed directly with either Laing O'Rourke or Bouygues Travaux Public and include competitive salaries, private medical insurance, company pension schemes and annual holiday allowance. Some grades will also include a company car allowance.
Unless stated otherwise, all positions are based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.
