Floating Support Worker Needed In South London!
Pay:
£14.40 - £20.00 per hour dependent on experience
Clients:
Ex-Homeless clients within their own tenancies
Assignment:
3 months with potential extension
Hours:
Full time 37.5 hours, 0900 - 17:00 - 5 days a week across Monday - Friday
Location:
Covering all South London boroughs - Travel expenses incurred during shift times are covered
Our social care client needs a Floating Support Worker to provide housing-related support to vulnerable ex-homeless clients, ensuring they maintain their tenancy and prepare for an independent lifestyle. You will be supporting 20 clients across all South London boroughs, with visit frequency depending on each client's level of need. This is a great opportunity to be out in the community supporting those who need your advice and guidance most!
The clients have a variety of support needs ranging from low to high, including substance misuse, mental health issues, and low independence. You will help them improve and obtain accommodation and gain the skills and knowledge necessary to maintain a property and live independently. Patience, perseverance, and motivation are essential to effectively manage your caseload in this social care position.
Duties:
1. Oversee a caseload of 20 low to high needs clients
2. Organise your week by booking appointments with each client
3. Write up monthly and weekly reports using clear written communication
4. Assist clients with budgeting, advising on affordability and financial management
5. Help each client obtain and maintain their tenancy, reporting any damages, and ensuring they meet their financial responsibilities
6. Maintain a positive relationship between your client and their landlord
7. Support clients emotionally
8. Empower clients to take up hobbies, attend appointments, and apply for work, education, or training
9. Encourage client engagement with the community
10. Promote independence and teach life skills
