HEAD OF DEPARTMENT – SPORTS AND UNIFORMED PROTECTIVE SERVICES – FULL TIME
As the Head of Department for Sport and Unformed Protective Services, you will have the opportunity to shape and deliver innovative programmes that reflect current industry standards. You will manage a dedicated team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. The role encompasses both teaching and strategic leadership responsibilities, ensuring a holistic and forward-thinking approach to curriculum development and student success.
Ideally the successful candidate will have taught within this curriculum area previously, or line managed this discipline, however this is not essential. You will need to have a proven track record of leading a large curriculum area, along with experience of managing and developing a diverse team of people. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective use of teaching and learning strategies, managing financial budgets and other resources, identifying and supporting underperforming students and continuously improving the quality of teaching, learning and assessment. Other desirable qualities include experience in setting targets and monitoring progress and the ability to effectively lead and motivate others to get the best outcomes for students.
Salary for the post will be on the Sixth Form College teachers’ pay scale, depending on qualification and experience, within the range NSP 1 £30,500 to NSP 9 £47,133 FTE per annum, plus a responsibility allowance of up to £4,928.
