Job summary
The Orthopaedic Surgery Department at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust offers general orthopaedic surgery including spinal and knee surgery.
The Department seeks applications for 2 Knee Fellowships commencing the 4th of February 2026.
Main duties of the job
* To provide high quality orthopaedic services to the Trust patients including the development of the service.
* To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care, including theatres, clinics and wards.
* To participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
* To gain further experience and develop an expertise in the management of orthopaedic conditions.
* To participate in on call weekend rota for elective patients.
* To participate in a relevant research project and audits.

Job responsibilities
You will join a team of 21 Registrar/Senior Clinical Fellow grade trainees and 8 Senior House Officers/Trust Doctors. This will involve rotating through the Trauma service, working with various subspecialties including lower limb and upper limb trauma.
The candidates will be expected to participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care.
Also, you will be expected to take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training and contribute to the management of the clinical service and service development.

Clinical Experience

* Comprehensive clinical experience in orthopaedics and of the services provided at GSTT relating to this field (a validated logbook must be included with the application).

* Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team. Ability to carry out routine primary replacement independently.

* Previous surgical experience.
