Youth Engagement Support Worker (Temporary till August 2025) The successful candidate will contribute to achieving the aims of the Wakefield Children and Young People’s Plan, specifically: They will support the team to develop and deliver a comprehensive offer of support and activities for children and young people from age 11 to 24 (up to and including). They will facilitate the engagement of children and young people in a range of group work and one to one activities and programmes in a variety of settings, including centre-based activities, street based and community activities The Youth Support Hub Support Worker will work directly with children and young people, providing support and activities with the aim of: - Improving access to employment - Promoting good health and wellbeing - Connecting people with local community services The role will include building relationships and working alongside local partner organisations and community stakeholders who provide support for children and young people with the aim of achieving improved access to services and outcomes for all children and young people. It will include working with Schools, Colleges, Training Providers and Employers to identify work placements and / or learning opportunities for young people and to support young people to access these opportunities. You will advocate for children and young people and promote and support their participation in all aspects of service delivery, design and implementation ensuring that their voice shapes services and delivery.
