Job overview
We are seeking a motivated and talented individual to join our finance team as a Senior Finance Business Partner on a 6-month fixed term contract/ secondment. This key role will involve providing strategic financial support and guidance across University Hospitals of Northamptonshire (UHN) in relation to key areas such as efficiencies and service improvement.
The post holder will be someone who looks for innovative solutions to improve the financial performance of the care group and has excellent communication skills to inspire confidence in working with other professionals at a senior level both within the Trust and externally. They will also proactively engage the organisation to support delivery of financial improvement.
This is a hybrid working role across UHN.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a highly motivated senior finance business partner with significant senior finance experience. They will need strong communication skills and the ability to empower and inspire others to embed strategic financial change will be essential.
The post holder will be highly effective in designing, preparing & presenting complex financial & non-financial information to colleagues including Executive leaders across the Trust.
They should have the ability to successfully challenge assumptions & information & negotiate solutions and able to build strong working relationships which inspire confidence on the advice given to finance and non-finance colleagues.

Qualifications
* CCAB qualified (Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies)
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent
Knowledge/Experience
* Significant, substantial and extensive experience of operating at a strategic or corporate level in a complex organisational environment, preferably NHS
* Experience of providing strategic finance support to an organisational change programme
* Experience of advising and working in tandem with senior managers, clinicians and directors of an NHS organisation
* Experience of presenting complex technical information to large groups of non-finance professionals and multi-disciplinary teams
* Expert knowledge of the NHS financial regime and its application to an NHS Trust
* Expert knowledge of performance reporting and performance management
* Expert knowledge of financial and accounting procedures and legislation
* Experience of working with Executive teams and boards
Skills
* Able to demonstrate strong influencing and negotiation skills
* Strong IT skills with the ability to apply this to the development of highly complex financial models
