We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Specialist Practitioner to join our team. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is looking for a new challenge in an ever-evolving service. If you are looking to move from inpatient to community, or are a Band 5 ready to step into a specialist role, we would love to hear from you too. The team has an excellent developmental support package for stepping up into a Band 6 role from a Band 5.
The NWIS is a great place to work, allowing you to develop excellent clinical skills and leadership skills that you may not get from other roles due to the fast-paced and high-acuity nature of the service. The team has nurtured many clinicians with personalized training options, both clinically and in leadership. Many of these clinicians have gone on to achieve promotions in the locality, which has opened up roles within the team. The Band 6 clinician will work shifts, including evenings and weekends, but there will be no night working. You have the option to request some shifts, and we also support flexible working. We would consider full-time and part-time applications, with flexible working agreements also being considered.
We have recently moved away from the 24-hour working model, so this position will not include any night shifts. The service now operates between 0730 - 2200.
Main duties of the job
The Band 6 will have a role leading the team. Within this role, they may:
1. Triage referrals to the service and make recommendations.
2. Complete holistic psychosocial assessments within the community.
3. Complete gatekeeping assessments to facilitate admission when home treatment is not felt to be a viable/safe option.
4. Attend Mental Health Act assessments at Bluebell Place of Safety and formulate home treatment plans if home treatment is indicated.
5. Implement Risk Management and Care Plans for the effective home treatment of Service Users, utilizing least restrictive practice at every opportunity.
6. Support with medication management and concordance within the community.
7. Provide telephone support to service users who call in during times of crisis.
8. Provide supervision to Band 4 colleagues.
There will be a comprehensive induction to the role and a supported period of supernumerary to aid with the transition.
