Travis Perkins has a great opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join our Finance team.
This role is Hybrid working, so travel to our Travis Perkins head office based in Northampton is usually required once or twice a week!
This is a 15 month FTC covering Maternity leave.
What you'll do
Working closely with the Senior Leadership team of the relevant business line to drive business performance and maximise achievement against the annual operating plan. You will support, challenge and be an important part of the Senior Leadership team through provision of business insight and KPI analysis to allow the Business Line to maximise opportunities and mitigate risk. Contributing to the Central functions to provide high quality financial support to allow for improved decision making, understanding of performance drivers and actionable business intelligence.
Principal Accountabilities
1. A key part of the Senior Leadership Team, representing Finance in partnership with the relevant Directors and their direct reports.
2. Monthly BAU reporting of performance to allow the Senior Leadership Team to understand and manage their progress against targets.
3. Ad-hoc reporting as and when required, either by the Leadership Team or through identification of risk/opportunities to flag to the business.
4. Understand, challenge and influence the Business Line strategy through review and analysis, and use business knowledge combined with Finance ability to support the build of both short term and long term strategies/budgets.
5. Prepare robust quarterly forecasts and budget.
6. Contribute to relevant business line, Finance or Group projects as required.
7. Ensure accurate numbers through month end, raising significant variances through the process with the relevant group contact to ensure transparency of numbers when they are reported.
8. Identify opportunities to prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
What you'll need to have:
1. Ideally a Qualified accountant.
2. Minimum of 2 years in an analytical role.
3. Working in a fast paced environment.
4. Experience of working across multiple functions.
5. Excellent communication record.
6. Proven track record of being able to communicate with finance and non-finance people.
7. Advanced excel/Google sheet skills.
8. Ability to interpret data into action orientated insight.
9. Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
10. Awareness of external impacts on the business.
11. Ambitious with potential to progress through the organisation.
12. Ability to continually challenge the status quo.
13. Willingness to learn.
