We require a reliable, enthusiastic and forward thinking staff nurse to join our experienced workforce at Wansbeck General Hospital. We provide sub-acute and on-going care, specialising in advanced treatment of long term cardiac conditions. We have a particular interest in heart failure management and complex discharge planning.

Ward 1 is a forward thinking 25 bedded Cardiology and General Medicine unit with a special focus on advanced heart failure management and long term cardiac conditions. We aim to provide excellent care to a wide range of patients with an emphasis on advanced discharge planning, utilising our close links with community and MDT teams. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our team.
Experience in this area would be beneficial; however support and training to develop knowledge and skills will be provided. Commitment to the development of your knowledge and skills and to the provision of high standards of personalised care is essential. Evidence of contemporary knowledge and recognised post registration continuous professional development qualifications would be advantageous.

To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the ward team under the direction of the Ward Manager.
To be responsible for the organising and co-ordination of nursing services in the ward/department in the absence of senior staff on a regular basis.
To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
To be responsible for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.
