SOCIAL IMPACT ASSISTANT - Permanent Opportunity Division: Civil Engineering Location: Northern Ireland

At GRAHAM we are looking for an enthusiastic Social Impact Assistant, who will complement our existing Social Value team.
Working within the Civil Engineering division, the successful candidate will; assist with the delivery of project-based social value initiatives in the communities in which we operate; build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders (including other social value/sustainability professionals project and specialist support teams, local community partners and our supply chain); as well as monitoring and reporting on social value activities. .
Given the nature of the role, the successful candidate will be required to travel regularly between relevant projects and must also be flexible to occasionally attend events outside normal hours.
A full driving licence is essential.
Expected Duties:
General
1. Support the SIM in the research, design, delivery & reporting of social impact on multiple projects in NI.
2. Work collaboratively with our project team(s), clients and key local stakeholders to ensure that our community activities and strategies are relevant, maximise positive impact & meet contractual expectations.
3. Contribute to the development and implementation of best practice through research and engagement with internal and external specialists, forums and/or steering groups.
Key Social Impact / KPI Activities
4. Support the design and delivery of project social value plans.
5. Lead and assist on the organisation of project and outreach events, including employee engagement / volunteering activities, site visits, recruitment fairs and internal events.
6. Support the recruitment of new entrants and local people through the project(s) in line with project need.
7. Engage with local educational providers (schools, colleges, further education) to provide curriculum and careers support and work experience.
8. Engage with local employability providers to develop pre-employment workshops, programmes & employer insight opportunities for job-seekers..
9. Engage with Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise organisations to explore and develop initiatives to deliver lasting impact e.g. volunteering and benefit in kind works
10. Co-ordinate and engage with the supply chain to ensure appropriate contribution towards project targets and activities and identify opportunities for support.
Monitoring & Reporting Duties
11. Assist with the production of progress and update reports for project teams, senior management & clients.
12. Record social value activities on external database/systems in line with contractual requirements.
13. Record social value reporting outcomes on GRAHAM internal monitoring database.
14. Collect, extract & analyse data to support themed social value case studies and good news stories for internal and external promotion.
15. Maintain database of external stakeholders
Other Duties & Responsibilities
16. Research and produce local needs analysis to inform our Social Value offering within bids and proposals to support work winning teams.
17. Research new initiatives for long-lasting social impact, network within local communities, and innovate
18. Produce case studies to promote social value activities on social media and the company website.
19. Create/Suggest/Share relevant best practice ideas to assist Project Management teams for their community focused activities within CCS (Considerate Constructors Scheme) themes
20. Assist the SIM with the promotion of any site-specific health and wellbeing activities/campaigns
21. Promote Fairness Inclusion & Respect practices on projects
22. Liaise with other departments to meet business needs as required and/or improve social value delivery
23. Identify social value related awards and collaborate with internal teams to develop award-winning entries.
24. Engage and encourage staff to support and volunteer with social value projects and initiatives.
