Job description
We're looking for a committed Bar team member to join our team in the Community Hub bar in Southwick, Wiltshire.
We have the luxury of being able to offer our customer the choice of two bars, one for our locals, families and friends with the downstairs bar available for all the functions you can imagine, from weddings, cultural events, fundraisers, theatrical performances to adult parties!
What do we want?
The successful applicant will be someone with amazing attention to detail, have the ability to work within a small team as well as independently. An enthusiastic approach to all tasks with a committed and proactive attitude will be key whilst also building up a financial awareness of the day to day running of the facilities.
Working closely with our existing team and Bar Supervisor you will demonstrate your ability to work efficiently, consistently and be ready to adapt to meet the needs of our customers, business needs and event diary.
Working in a bar or premises that serves alcohol, you’ll understand the importance of taking responsibility to demonstrate and adhere to the licensing laws in your role.
About you
You have at least 1+ years' experience in a hospitality/customer facing role and have a passion for excellent customer service, working confidently in a dynamic environment and playing a key role in our day to day and formal social events. You pride yourself on your time management skills, going above and beyond normal expectations for both the customer and your fellow team whilst growing and developing a strong and professional working relationship with our Bar Supervisor and Community Hub Manager. You will be keen to develop in your role through receiving training for event coordination to assist the Bar supervisor and Community Hub Manager.
Key elements of your role as Bar team member
You will oversee day to day bar operations, serving guests, stock rotation, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and ensuring all our customers, from our goldie oldies to our regulars to our new comers all feel welcomed and looking forward to their next visit. You'll have the ability to methodically work through a checklist for tasks to be completed pre opening and post closing, be available to work evenings and weekends on a rolling 4 week rota including working in our downstairs bar when events are booked. You will have the responsibility to ensure that at the end of each shift that the building is left secure, the cellar equipment and generators have been switched off and the bar is set to go ready for hire or to open up for our regular opening hours.
This role will average a 15hr week with a commitment to evening and weekends shifts being essential. With the ongoing growth of our Community Hub, we would ask that all applicants consider the possibility of their hours increasing in line with the demands and success of projects, bookings and services.
