The Role
As a Finance Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for the production of the monthly financial accounts and reporting requirements for Mission Systems contracts, as well as delivering an accurate and timely full business forecast created in collaboration with the operational teams.
Day-to-day, you'll be accountable for all of the reporting requirements for the business unit, including thorough analysis of results and regular reviewing of key variances vs budgets / forecasts for both project and overheads, maintaining high levels of engagement from the Operational Directors, Heads of Business and Senior Finance team:
* Providing effective leadership and management to the local Finance team, ensuring high levels of employee wellbeing, engagement and output on a day-to-day basis.
* Playing a key role in the local operational leadership team, providing financial insight, recommendations and constructive challenge to enable effective management of the business unit.
* Responsible for ensuring quality and accuracy of information is at the centre of all monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reporting.
* Maintaining strong and collaborative working relationships across the wider business.
* Provide a collaborative and respectful level of management.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires regular travel to Bristol, Plymouth or Tewkesbury, on a weekly / monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.
Essential Experience of the Finance Manager:
* Demonstratable experience in financial management or business management; ideally, in an international manufacturing environment.
* Experience of financial controls preferably, within a large business environment.
* Understanding of accounting standards relevant to tendering overhead costs as well as revenue recognition.
* Ability to behaviour as an agile & innovative individual, building trust-based relationships.
* Understanding of the bespoke engineering manufacturing sector is desired but, not essential.
Qualifications for the Finance Manager:
* You must hold a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS) or equivalent / similar.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Enhanced Developed Vetting (EDV) security clearance for this role. However, the successful candidate can start on Security Check (SC) security clearance but will need to gain Enhanced Developed Vetting (EDV) security clearance.
