Job summary Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust are looking for flexible and reliable individuals to work in our Patient Catering Production Team based at the main Catering unit, Seacroft Hospital. This role will involve working as part of a team in a chilled environment (5oC) in the production and assembly of a range of patient meal items. There are a variety of duties performed such as picking & packing of food items for patient meal requests, receiving deliveries, preparation of in house made food items such as sandwich and salad meals along with daily cleaning tasks of the catering unit. Full training, uniform & PPE will be provided. Experience of working within a food preparation or distribution environment would be an advantage. Four roles are currently being recruited. Role one: Monday to Sunday 37.5 hours variable shift pattern Role two: Monday to Sunday 37.5 hours variable shift pattern Role three; Saturday & Sunday 15 hours variable shift pattern Role Four: Saturday & Sunday 7 hours 08.00 to 11.30 Expected Shortlisting Date 17/03/2025 Planned Interview Date 24/03/2025 Main duties of the job The role holder will carry out within the chilled manufacturing unit general food preparation duties such as salad washing/sanitization and processing into component meal items; assembly of sandwiches & salad meals; manufacture of low risk catering food materials to a set recipe such as soups, cakes, main meal items etc. To carry out food service distribution tasks such as stock rotation and movement of goods, picking meal orders for distribution, receipt of external and internal deliveries and allocated cleaning duties within the department. General supporting within the department and associated areas as required. All post holders are required to work to standards required for Trust Food Safety and national legislation.
