Position Overview
Tower Hamlets Housing Options Service is seeking a dedicated and passionate Team Leader to manage our Lead Professional team, which provides bespoke homelessness and housing options support to families and singles with low-level needs.
You will supervise one of our Lead Professional teams, providing direction and support to all staff members and help to develop partnerships to maintain a holistic housing options service. You will oversee the daily work of the team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality advice related to housing options, homelessness prevention, and additional support from partner services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing improvements to ensure we deliver an effective service for those in need.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee daily work activities related to housing options, homelessness prevention, signposting, and referrals to key stakeholders.
2. Develop and implement improvement actions to ensure consistent service enhancement.
3. Engage and develop team members, ensuring they understand available options to enhance customers' life and skills opportunities.
4. Stay updated on relevant legislation, Code of Guidance, case law, and best practices to ensure quality decisions are made and communicated effectively.
The Person
We are looking for a candidate with in-depth housing knowledge, including understanding of duties under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996, the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, Landlord and Tenant Legislation, Housing Act 1985, and Protection from Eviction Act 1977.
You will have good leadership skills and experience in managing a team in a public sector organisation. A confident, experienced, and adaptable self-starter, you will be able to work proactively and on your own initiative.
