My client is a manufacturer of high precision & quality CNC Lathes and is seeking a technical-minded engineer to be ideally based in the Midlands to join their growing team. As a CNC Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing a range of specialist machines across the UK.
Suitable candidate locations may include East Midlands, West Midlands, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire or surrounding areas.
The Role of Field Service Engineer:
Service, repair & maintenance of 3 & 5 axis machine tools
Installation, repair & maintain 2 axis-9 axis lathes
Develop & maintain working relationships with current customers
Fault finding on Fanuc controls
Mechanical repairs including ball screws, spindles, bearings and axis alignments
Communicate daily with the line manager, providing detailed reports
Carry out and maintain service stock
Upload of daily worksheets to database
Travel throughout the UK & Spain when required (with notice) to support colleagues abroad and attend training
Minimum Skills / Experience Required:
Must be a time-served engineer in machine tool service or CNC maintenance role
5 years of experience servicing or repairing multi-turret lathes or spindles
Previous experience working on Fanuc controls
Holds an HNC-level mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent (desirable)
Able to interpret electrical drawings and use a meter for basic fault finding
Willing to travel and stay away from home on a weekly basis
Ability to work & communicate professionally at customer's premises
Full clean UK driving licence and valid UK passport
