We are looking for a motivated and experienced BMS engineer to join our team as a Service Account Manager/Support Engineer. The successful candidate will join our Leeds office team to work on existing service contracts across the Yorkshire region. This dual-role offers the opportunity to blend technical expertise with account management, enabling the successful candidate to develop their career in both fields with a long term goal that the role will progress into Service Manager for the region.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) visits on large-scale maintenance contracts, ensuring comprehensive checks of controllers, field equipment, and associated systems.
* Deliver detailed and professional reports following site visits, outlining findings, recommendations, and actions taken.
* Proactively identify energy-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to clients to enhance system efficiency.
* Respond swiftly to reactive call-outs, diagnosing issues effectively and implementing timely solutions to minimise downtime for the client.
* Carry out high-quality remedial works, including controller upgrades and panel modifications.
* Provide on-site guidance to clients, simplifying complex technical details to ensure they understand system functionality and outcomes of visits.
* Support and mentor trainee service engineers, helping to build a strong and knowledgeable team.
* Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring all work meets compliance standards.
Account Management:
* Manage and oversee multiple service contracts, ensuring that performance standards, PPM schedules, and contract requirements are consistently met.
* Act as the primary point of contact for client escalations, addressing service performance issues promptly and professionally.
* Build and nurture client relationships through regular progress meetings, site visits, and proactive communication.
* Maximise business opportunities by maintaining awareness of on-site engineers’ activities and findings.
* Prepare and deliver quotations aligned with company procedures, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client specifications.
* Support on-site service engineers with comprehensive contract and site-specific information.
* Take ownership of the Profit & Loss (P&L) for each assigned contract, ensuring financial targets are met.
* Liaise with suppliers to stay informed about the latest products and innovations relevant to client needs.
* Collaborate with the sales team to share client relationships, identify cross-selling opportunities, and contribute to overall business growth.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in BMS engineering, with a strong understanding of system controllers, field equipment, and energy-saving principles.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong organisational skills to manage multiple contracts, schedules, and client relationships effectively.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
* Experience in account management or a similar client-facing role is highly desirable.
* Ability to mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
* Familiarity with health and safety policies, ensuring compliance in all aspects of work.
