Summary and Purpose Your job will be to prepare and fulfil orders fast and correctly so we can provide high-quality customer service. Warehouse Operative are integral warehouse workers. The main Warehouse Operative duties revolve around placing incoming orders on shelves and picking orders according to specific customer requirements. As a Warehouse Operative, you’ll also monitor inventory and communicate any shortages. You should have great attention to detail to maintain accurate records. Some physical strength is required since you may often need to lift packages by hand. Immediate priorities: • Complete MHE assessment • Understand the picking & loading process using RF equipment. • Get to know the site and work colleagues / key stakeholders. • Gain knowledge around our quality standards and adheres to them. • Have a full understanding around H&S within the area and required PPE. Main Responsibilities: • To actively support the supervisory team and ensure jobs are completed on time daily, as per the production schedule whilst maintaining quality expectations and H&S protocol throughout. • The ability to follow SOPs with relevant risk assessments to carry out daily tasks, any variation to be reported to supervision for review. • Check incoming deliveries to make sure all ordered material meets quality standards. • Load and unload packages. • Organise stock in the most efficient way. • Receive and check incoming goods. • Pick material to fulfil orders properly. • Pack and wrap orders according to the customers’ requirements. • Replenish materials and any stock movements requirements. • Familiarity with voice picking systems or RDT devices is a plus. • Experience in using warehouse equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet truck) • Strong communication skills • Attention to detail. • Organizational skills • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. • License to operate forklifts is an advantage. • Availability to occasionally work overtime. • Positive can-do attitude FLT Driving • Responsible for Picking orders. • Loading of vehicles with multi drops • Unloading of vehicles to storage sheds • Picking orders for production • Loading of production lines with raw material • Unloading finished goods off production lines and putting to bin locations Manual Handling • Making up of orders of various items • Handling product of various sizes and lengths, • Handling larger items that may require multiple persons at times. Other • Use of PC for creating paperwork / stock enquiries • Use of RF equipment during all processes • Filling in of various paperwork • General cleaning and tidying up Prerequisites: • Suitable current MHE certificate • 2 years MHE experience carrying out similar picking / loading activities. • Experience of delivering an excellent safety performance • Numerate • Flexibility towards working shift patterns and overtime as required. Working Hours Role based at our Newton Aycliffe site, working a 2-shift pattern of 06:00 – 14:00 and 14:00 – 22:30 Monday – Thursday plus Friday 14.00 – 20.00. Breaks 1 x 10-minute break and 1 x 20-minute lunch daily.
