iO Associates, a leading recruitment partner in the UK/EU, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter for a high-profile Defence project. This contract opportunity requires an individual with expertise in marine or mechanical engineering to undertake critical maintenance and repair tasks on various systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake Marine mechanical fitting activities, inspections, fault finding, and repairs on RN and other entitled vessels.
* Maintain and improve hydraulic, air, and saltwater systems, including pressure testing.
* Overhaul valves, fit and fair mechanical components, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
* Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including working at heights and confined space operations.
* Collaborate with the project team to achieve timely completion of tasks and maintain excellent quality standards.
Requirements:
* Hold a valid NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Marine or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Demonstrate experience in marine mechanical fitting, inspections, fault finding, and repairs.
* Possess knowledge of hydraulic, air, and saltwater systems, including pressure testing.
* Hold a current working at heights and confined space certificate.
* Be in possession of a valid fit-to-work certificate from a recognized occupational health practitioner or GP.
