Job summary We are looking for an ambitious Cardiac Physiologist with a speciality in Echocardiography to join the team at the Newmarket Community Diagnostic Centre. Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) are being established across the country under a government programme to improve local access to diagnostic testing. Newmarket's' CDC will open November 2024 and, once open, will deliver approximately 100,000 outpatient tests a year, which alongside Cardiology, will include CT, MRI, X-ray, Ultrasound, blood tests and Respiratory. This will mean the communities in and around Newmarket will have quicker and easier access to the tests they need in a modern facility located on their doorstep. The centre, offering a 7 day a week service, will reduce waiting times and tackling health inequalities by ensuring our patients get their test arranged, their results back and any necessary treatment scheduled more quickly. Previous applicants need not apply. Main duties of the job It is essential that the applicant holds BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent, and in addition holds BSE Accreditation or equivalent. This post will involve a degree of managerial responsibilities; therefore, experience in leadership or management roles would be desirable. To arrange a visit to the department or for more information, please contact Chris Pidgeon (Principal Non-Invasive Physiologist) or Anna Mills (Principal Invasive Physiologist): email christopher.pidgeonwsh.nhs.uk / anna.millswsh.nhs.uk or telephone 01284 712536.
