We are looking for an experienced Maths/Science Subject Lead to join our fantastic team at Overton School. As a Maths/Science Subject Lead, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupils' achievement and ability to develop.
As the Maths/Science Subject Lead, your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected, and involved in as many decisions as possible.
Job Purpose
1. To teach to a high standard and ensure all pupils access the knowledge relevant to the subject area.
2. Liaise with other OFG schools to ensure development of the curriculum areas.
3. Develop the scheme of learning for the curriculum areas and have an oversight of planning across the pathways.
4. Monitor progress of pupils and put in place interventions where pupils are underachieving.
5. Maintain a development plan for the subject areas.
6. Keep updated of changes within the curriculum areas and disseminate these to staff.
7. Quality assure the teaching and learning of the subject areas.
8. Support the development of staff and challenge the underperformance of staff.
9. Attend middle leader training within school.
10. Deliver training to develop staff on pedagogical developments.
11. Liaise with the exams officer to ensure accurate entries are made for qualifications related to the subjects.
12. To teach a range of subjects as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the school's curriculum.
