The Role Department : Finance Location : Guildford Role : Accounts Assistant Working Hours : Monday to Friday 9.00 5.30pm Hybrid Working : 2 days in the office, 3 days from home The Role The Accounts Assistant works with the UK Client Accounting team based in Guildford consisting of 6 Legal Cashiers, 2 Senior Legal Cashier and reporting to the Legal Cashier Team Leader.The accounts assistant provides administrative support and is a vital member of the team. The team maintains client and office accounts where transactions are subject to very strict regulatory rules as required by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority. Great attention to detail at all times is essential ensuring that all financial activities are recorded in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules so this role would suit a candidate that has excellent attention to detail, capable of prioritising activities and liaising internally and externally with stakeholders at all levels. Key Responsibilities Daily download of UK Client and Office bank accounts. Record and identify new client receipts as to which practice area they relate to for passing to the relevant Legal Cashier and keeping a log of the same. Record and identify new office receipts, maintaining a register of receipts and recording of office receipts against Debtors ledger within the firms accounting system, Elite 3E. Reconciliation of suspense accounts ensuring that unidentified receipts are returned promptly. Reconciliation of unplaced receipts ledger. Bank reconciliations as holiday cover. Ad hoc projects for Legal Cashier Team Leader and Client Money & Financial Compliance Manager.
