Job title – Quality Officer

The purpose of this position is to assist in the day-to-day management of the quality system to ensure the Company delivers the specified requirements of our QM standards, ISO9001, FAMI-QS, UFAS, & VMD and to ensure adherence to the specific guidelines and regulations regarding quantity, quality, environment and safety.
The role would refer to maintaining high SHEQ standards to ensure compliance as a top-tier COMAH site, as there are significant risks relating to employee safety, the environment and DSM’s reputation to the outside world.
Additionally, the role would be focused on ensuring additional tasks and activities directed from DNP or Corporate DSM are accomplished in an efficient and timely manner even though they might be additional to planned work.
Your key responsibilities
1. Assist in the day-to-day management of the quality system to ensure compliance to standards.
2. Train and provide assistance to business functions on quality procedures, protocols, and documentation.
3. Provide an analytical service to the process team.
4. Support the maintenance of the annual supplier evaluation schedule to ensure compliance to process and QMS.
5. Provide Quality Assurance (QA) support to initiate, engage and escalate critical and major compliance issues through QMS processes, including deviations, CAPAs and change control.
6. Support investigations into complaints or quality incidents.
7. Undertake internal Quality Audits where required.
8. Organize the management of Customer samples and external analysis requirements.
9. Carry out inspection of production, process, and quality programs.
10. Assist with Quality management system duties, including the creation of forms, SOP's etc.
11. Monitor quality targets, generating, and maintaining KPI's.
12. Maintain the Laboratory Calibration System.
13. Fulfil all responsibilities as defined in the Company’s Quality Manual.
14. Carry out other duties as may be required to achieve the overall purpose of the job.
15. Co-operate with employers and co-workers to help everyone meet their legal requirements.
16. Complete the courses in Talent suite learning.
17. Wear the personal protective equipment or protective clothing if required for work task.
18. Intervene if watching unsafe acts or conditions.
19. Execute safety and quality controls in the responsibility area in adherence with site procedures.
20. Maintain work environment such that safety and quality risks are minimized.
21. Maintain records of relevant activities in accordance with site procedures.
22. Ensure that relevant changes are assessed appropriately as per management of change procedure.
23. Be exemplary with own SHE/Q-Behavior.

You bring
* Degree qualified or equivalent in a science discipline.
* Previous experience of working in Quality ideally within a food manufacturing environment.
* Internal Auditor trained and experienced.
* Knowledge, adherence and implementation of the instructions and regulations for own work area.
* Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements (COMAH, local laws, DSM SHEQ, etc).
* Working knowledge of ISO9001 standard.
* SHE & Quality Systems requirements and Practices.
* IT literate, in particular Microsoft packages e.g. Excel, Word & SAP.
* Knowledge of current analytical techniques and equipment.
* Background knowledge of the manufacturing processes.
* Knowledge of the properties and hazards of the chemicals used.
* Knowledge of relevant software packages (data handling).
