About the Role
The Commercial Systems and Insight Lead heads a small team that shapes policy, ensures compliance, and supports all Council service areas in commercial and procurement activities. The role involves monitoring regulatory changes, developing tools and training, and advising on risk mitigation, policy, and governance best practices. Collaboration with the Commercial Hub and Service Areas is essential to foster continuous improvement. The role supports the Commercial Systems and Strategy Manager in promoting the Council’s vision and delivering value services.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Significant experience in Procurement, Contract Management, or IT Systems
* Knowledge of public procurement legislation, processes, and practices
* MCIPS qualification or equivalent experience
* Experience leading teams, motivating staff, and creating high-performing services
* Expertise in using information and systems for decision-making and performance monitoring
* PRINCE 2 Practitioner level qualification or equivalent, or experience in project management
