There is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Wirral Talking Therapies Team The Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner supports the Service Director and PWP Team Lead to develop the step 2 service provision within Everyturn Mental Health. The role provides an opportunity for experienced PWP’s who are committed to developing their careers to share their interest and passion and to develop these qualities and skills in others. Key Responsibilities Clinical and Service Delivery Provide assessment and low intensity interventions to patients registered with GP’s within the region, drawing from CBT theories and techniques. To offer rapid screening and assessment, informed by knowledge of the spectrum of mental health needs and risk factors. Provide a service that is comprehensive and accessible to a broad range of patients who have commonplace mental health problems. Make appropriate referrals to other service providers in the statutory and voluntary sectors and redirect patients to other sources of appropriate support within the local community as required. Develop a ‘local knowledge’ of the locality and its services and facilities, particularly in relation to mental health issues. Provide a service that is flexible as far as possible in terms of clinic hours, enabling, where possible, at least one clinic to be run outside normal working hours. Liaise as appropriate with secondary care mental health services and social services departments Conduct risk assessment, prepare risk management plans and initiate appropriate action where indicated. Take personal responsibility for achieving agreed clinical activity relating to the number of therapy contact hours per week. Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times Maintain appropriate clinical records in keeping with service operational policy Participate in setting and review of objectives for the post on an annual basis Support, develop and deliver interactive psycho-education within a CBT framework to groups of clients as well as training other PWP’s in the provision Assist the PWP team lead in audits of clinical activity and evaluate research as required Assist the PWP team lead in managing an aspect of the service at the level of direct service delivery. This might include one or more of: coordinating psycho-educational materials, developing a central resource file of clinical resources for general use, acting as the key liaison for marketing and events management. Assist the PWP team lead in managing the Step 2 waiting list including working together to generate innovative ideas to manage the waits in line with the demands and needs of the service Attend professional meetings as appropriate About You We would love to hear from you if you possess the following: • Holds a PG or UG certificate in Low Intensity Interventions from a recognised BPS accredited PWP training provider OR holds a MSci Applied Psychology integrated with PWP qualification with dual BPS accreditation as PWP training OR holds a PWP Apprenticeship training qualification from a BPS accredited PWP training programme. • Hold PWP Registration (or be working towards) with BABCP or BPS. • Are looking to work for an innovative provider who really values you, the role of the PWP and your career development. • Able to demonstrate good therapeutic relationships with people. • Able to undertake thorough risk assessments. • Are an inspirational and collaborative team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Able to organise high volume workload to ensure effective prioritisation and delivery of objectives. • Are flexible to meet the needs of the service. / • Are committed to improving access to psychological therapies and working within these services for your future career development.
