Annex 21
Applicants who do not meet the essential criteria will be considered under the Annex 21 training programme, where whilst undergoing training, they will be paid a 75% of the top of Band3 and on completion of training will then move on to Band 3scale.
The Role
NHS Lanarkshire are looking to recruit a weekend Senior Healthcare Support Worker - Radiology Department for a fixed term until October 2025.
As a Senior Healthcare Support Worker you will provide a high standard of care to a wide patient group of all ages, ethnic background and clinical condition during radiological imaging procedures which include, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound and plain film examination and will assist radiology staff in producing high quality images in all imaging modalities, ensuring the provision of high quality, patient centred care, ensuring an effective and efficient flow of patients throughout the department and hospital.

What we'll need you to bring
1. SVQ III in Healthcare Support - Clinical (incorporating modules on radiographic images) or working towards or equivalent radiography experience.
2. Or
3. SVQ III in Healthcare Support - Clinical or working towards or equivalent experience working within a clinical healthcare environment/role.
4. Or
5. Postholders with no previous radiography experience will be treated in accordance with Annex U Arrangements for Pay and Banding of Trainees – 75% of the maximum of the salary scale.
6. Initial induction period of up to 3 months followed by a period of training and consolidation to achieve full competency across a range of specialties within 12 months.
7. Ability to work unsupervised
8. Ability to take direction and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
9. Effective communication skills; oral and written.
10. Ability to plan and organise own workload.
11. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
12. Effective computer skills.

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Please note this is a fixed term post until October 2025. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

This role will be based in Radiology within University Hospital Wishaw
The working pattern for this role: Weekend -Saturday & Sunday
