The PMLD Teaching Assistant Job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced PMLD Teaching Assistant to work with young students with profound multiple learning disabilities. You will provide one-on-one support, helping students engage with their learning and develop independence, literacy, and mathematics skills. If you have patience, creativity, and a compassionate disposition, we would love to hear from you!

The School
Based in Sidcup, this fantastic school is friendly and well-respected in the local community with students across the school ages 4-11. Pupils from Sidcup and surrounding areas who attend this school are offered a broad and balanced curriculum, that is tailored around an extensive knowledge of their learning difficulties and tailored to them. Support and training are offered every week to further develop your knowledge and skills as a PMLD Teaching Assistant for children with varied needs.
You will be working with skilled teachers and other PMLD Teaching Assistants in a classroom environment.
The PMLD Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
1. Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils.
2. Promote pupil's independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion.
3. Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning, and experience a sense of achievement.
4. Support with planning, preparation, and resourcing for lessons.
5. Promote, support, and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
6. Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures.
7. Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment.
