About the role
As a College Counsellor, you’ll play a crucial role in providing confidential counselling services to our students and apprentices. Your expertise will help students overcome challenges, both academic and personal, and reach their full potential. You’ll be a trusted resource for mental health and emotional well-being.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
1. Individual Counselling: Provide one-on-one counselling sessions to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional concerns.
2. Support Services: Assist students in overcoming obstacles that may impact their learning experience.
3. Crisis Intervention: Respond to urgent situations and provide immediate support.
4. Referrals: Collaborate with other support services and external agencies to ensure comprehensive care.
5. Well-Being Promotion: Organize workshops, events, and awareness campaigns related to mental health and well-being.
Essential Criteria:
6. Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in counselling, psychology, or a related field.
7. Experience: Previous experience in counselling or mental health support.
8. Empathy: A genuine concern for students’ well-being and the ability to build trust.
9. Communication Skills: Clear communication and active listening.
10. Ethical Practice: Adherence to confidentiality and professional ethics.

Lets Teach Programme
Let’s Teach The LET’s teach programme supports new members of teaching staff in terms of college systems and key teaching and learning areas including new staff lesson visits and postcard peeps. Each new member of staff has an allocated Lead Practitioner who works closely with them throughout the programme.
Let’s Bloom
The LET’s Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
