About the role
Due to the growth of the business, we’re looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to provide administrative and accounting support to the Finance team. Reporting into the Finance Manager, the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for:
* Financial record keeping: maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including invoices, expenses and transactions.
* Accounts payable and receivable: assisting in processing payments, invoices and receivables. Ensuring that the creditors' ledger is tidy each month and fully allocated.
* Administrative tasks: taking care of day-to-day correspondence and filing accurately.
* Bank reconciliations: completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
* Tracking transactions: tracking company transactions and ensuring all payments are correct and on-time.
Using your great attention to detail, problem solving skills and proficient IT knowledge, you will ensure tasks are completed within a timely and efficient manner, whilst adhering to accounting standards and regulations.
About you
We’re ideally looking for someone with:
* Experience in using accounting software (Sage 50 desirable, but not essential) for handling day-to-day accounting transactions.
* A good understanding of bookkeeping principles, such as maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts and tracking transactions.
* Proficient IT skills with advanced use of Excel including the ability to use functions, formulas, pivot tables and data analysis tools for managing financial data and generating reports.
* A good understanding of VAT legislation.
* Experience and understanding of Financial Reporting requirements, in particular, FRS 102.
