Physical and Other
Essential criteria
1. Ability to move between a number of locations within the region in a working day.
2. Up to date immunisations are required (including TB, HepB)
Desirable criteria
1. Ability to work on days to suit the service
Planning and Organisational
Essential criteria
1. Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS/HCPC
2. Ability to identify, provide and promote appropriate means of support to carers and staff exposed to distressing situations
3. Ability to identify, and employ, as appropriate, clinical governance mechanisms for the support and maintenance of clinical practice
4. Ability to develop and use complex multi-media materials for presentations in public, professional and academic settings
Analytical and Judgement
Essential criteria
1. Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management
2. Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including both quantitative and qualitative methods.
Desirable criteria
1. Well developed knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies for people with long-term health conditions.
2. Knowledge of complex multivariate data analysis as practiced within the field of clinical psychology
3. Experience of using qualitative research methods
Communication and Relationship Skills
Essential criteria
1. Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, highly technical, and clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
2. Skills in providing consultation & supervision to other professional and non-professional groups
Desirable criteria
1. Experience of working within a multicultural framework
2. Knowledge of the theory and practice of highly specialised psychological therapies or assessment methodologies
3. Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group
Experience
Essential criteria
1. Experience of working with children or adults with physical health problems, or with children or adults with mental health problems
2. Experience of exercising clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment
3. Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision
4. Experience of carrying out research
Desirable criteria
1. Working as a qualified Clinical Psychologist in paediatric psychology or adult clinical health psychology
Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Completed (or due to complete in 2024) post-graduate doctoral level DClinPsy in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS
2. Current HCPC registration for Clinical Psychologist (or eligibility to qualify for registration in 2024)
3. Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS/HCPC.
Desirable criteria
1. Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
