Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Business Support Officer until April 2025 with potential to extend for 3 months on a rate of £17.04/hour PAYE. This role will be a hybrid of home and office working. This role is 4 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Publishing consultation on Citizen Space
- Finalising the guidance for the organisation’s website
- Website content management - Maintain our web site area - Publishing items on the organisation’s website - some items are still in development (referral notices)
- IMSO management
- FOI Co-ordinating/
- Ensuring timely payment of invoices
- ORACLE training input-output
- Arranging meetings, note taking, sending invites, filing in eRDM
- Mailbox management
- Call answering
- Website management
- Referral forms
- Stakeholder engagement meetings/notes
- Any other admin tasks on adhoc basis.
- You will provide assistance in collating information to support the Adjudicator in preparation of the annual reports and accounts.
- The role involves managing all meetings, providing logistical support, sending invites, logging attendance, and organising papers. Additionally, you’ll act as the team’s point of contact, provide secretariat support for stakeholder meetings, ensure minutes are written and saved in ERDM, and follow up on actions with the appropriate lead.
- In addition to your responsibilities as the IMSO, you will be required to assist with website maintenance.
- You will provide support to co-ordinate briefs, FMQs and routinely monitor and support preparation of FOI, PQ and Micase correspondence.
- You will work flexibly across the Adjudicator’s office, providing necessary support to both the Adjudicator and the Head of Office as needed.

- Excellent written skills and ability to take fast paced minutes/notes.
- A flexible and pro-active approach to work including ability to prioritise
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Confident in talking with Stakeholders
- A good awareness of collaborative technologies such as Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality at all times
- An ability to communicate policy intentions through clear written and oral communications.
- Experience of working collaboratively across different areas and with a range of internal and/or external stakeholders, to ensure delivery of key priorities.
- Excellent numerical skills including some experience of making payments, budget or grant management, including the ability to monitor spend and escalate issues.
- Strong ability to work flexibly and prioritise and balance competing demands and workload pressures to meet deadlines.
