About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the further development of our Dementia Care services as we look to support those people living in our homes and with dementia. At MMCG, we are committed to continuously enhancing the lifestyle of our residents while ensuring that our teams are supported to deliver truly person-centred care.
This varied role will involve working directly with residents to meet both their physical and emotional needs; building relationships and finding commonalities that can enhance the residents’ experience; working alongside colleagues to role model best practices, providing information, advice, and guidance where required.
You will report directly to your Home Manager, supported by our MMCG Dementia Development Lead, plus a wider network of Dementia Ambassadors across the organisation.
About you
Your experience of working to support people living with dementia is essential. You will need an understanding of the changes that dementia can have on a person’s abilities and needs, how to find strategies to best support them, and how to assist the team in making the relevant changes to care planning.
Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills are necessary, along with confidence in supporting the team, delivering training workshops, and demonstrating how to implement newfound knowledge and skills into practice.
A level 3 vocational qualification in Health and Social Care is preferred.
