It is the responsibility of the Engineering Manager to ensure that the day-to-day administration is effectively completed along with other assigned responsibilities detailed below.
Main responsibilities include:
1. Effectively manage the engineering team
2. Be an escalation point for technical queries & customer faults / call outs (NWH & OOH)
3. Research, test and develop new and existing products & services
4. Ensure continuous product & technical training to the whole team
5. Manage all on site & HQ activities
6. Analyse and improve processes within the engineering department
7. Ensuring the maintenance and health and safety impact of Company premises meet and improve on the required Company standard
8. Leadership (duty of care) of engineers onsite staff, including external contractors
9. Site responsible person for HEALTH AND SAFETY and ensuring that facilities and premises meet statutory requirements
10. Manage all aspects of staff management, including:
1. Recruitment
2. On-boarding
3. Performance management and reviews
4. Development
5. Skills gap analysis
6. Technical competencies
7. ER matters (relating to sickness, absences, etc)
8. Working hours
9. Holidays
10. Follow policies and procedures
11. Guiding/Coaching/Mentoring engineers and apprentices
12. Ensuring activities comply with legal and company standards, e.g., Working Time Directive
11. Produce daily, weekly, and period-end reports as required
12. Effectively manage the engineering budget
13. Oversee the management of projects
14. Complete project analysis
15. Assist with the planning and co-ordinate of team resources
16. Work as a key member of the management team
17. Review engineering documentation to ensure complete compliance (RAMS, accreditations etc.)
18. Attend site to install, commission, maintain & fault find UPS systems and their associated equipment

We will provide management training, however, relevant electrical qualifications and proven experience of installation, commissioning, servicing and repair of UPS and battery systems is necessary.

Hours: Based on 37.5 hours per week + Overtime

Pay: From £40,000.00 per year
