Purchasing Support Specialist Location: Basildon Job Type: Full-time Competitive Salary Join a leading subcontract Electronics Manufacturing company as a Purchasing Support Specialist. This role is crucial for supporting the costing activities for new quotes and providing accurate information for future orders. You will be an integral part of a busy purchasing team, helping to manage a high volume of quoting activity which allows other team members to focus on new product introductions and day-to-day production buying. Day-to-day of the role: Develop close working relationships with key functions such as Production, Engineering, and Sales to support commercial negotiations for new projects. Solicit and negotiate supplier price, lead time, and delivery quotations. Analyse complex data for multiple components to determine the best purchasing options. Utilise the MRP system (Factory Master) to support purchasing and quoting activities. Provide additional support to the wider team in day-to-day buying and purchasing activities during times of high workload or absence. Offer general support to the Purchasing Manager as required. Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a Contract Electronics Manufacturer (CEM). Proficient in using an MRP system, ideally Factory Master. Excellent organisational and planning skills. Strong numerical and analytical skills, proficient in Excel and databases. Proven problem-solving abilities with a strong initiative to think laterally and find solutions.
