Job summary
There are 2 posts, one cross site between RSCH and PRH and one cross site between WGH and SRH. Both with occasional travel to all sites.
The post holder will lead, support, coordinate & facilitate the development of education programmes for HCSW's. This role includes coordinating education activities and assessments of learning for HCSW's within the classroom setting and clinical areas in conjunction with clinical educators throughout the Trust.
You will work alongside the Senior Practice Development Nurse for HCSW Education and facilitate induction programmes including delivering the National Care Certificate Programme.
You will be an accessible and approachable point of contact for the HCSW's and their managers within the Trust, supporting HCSW's in developing their skills and knowledge and the development of their careers in the Trust.
You will promote and implement quality education programmes and learning opportunities for HCSW's that reflect contemporary practice and promote quality patient care, whilst incorporating local and national guidance.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for monitoring and supporting Band 3 HCSW Education Facilitators and will be expected to work alongside HCSW's in their clinical areas on a regular basis. They will collaborate with and support ward and department teams in enabling their HCSW's to develop and fulfil their potential.
To undertake and support the development and facilitation of clinical skills teaching requirements of the HCSW Induction Programme in conjunction with the Senior Practice Development Nurse for HCSW Education.
To manage, facilitate & support the recruitment and inductionprocesses of HCSW's new to theTrust and provide clinical expertise and support to all HCSW's in practice.
To monitor and be responsible for ensuring all Trust HCSW's successfully complete the mandatory National Care Certificate standards.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
1. First level registered nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Council (UK)
2. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent
3. Practice Assessor or equivalent
4. Experience of teaching and assessing learners (face to face, blended, e-learning)
5. Experience of working in a role developing practice
Desirable
6. Practice Teacher / Post Graduate Certificate in Education
7. Master's Degree level study or willingness to undertake
8. Evidence of developing education programmes
