The Job You’ll Do.
* Interpreting customer specifications and requirements to produce high-quality designs.
* Designing safe and effective low voltage control systems, including bill of materials management.
* Producing engineering drawings (schematics, layouts, harnesses) and technical documentation.
* Supporting production teams and problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.
* Conducting site visits, inspections, and customer meetings as required.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant safety and engineering standards.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and best practices.
The Person.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial electrical control system design.
* Strong background in industrial control panels, ideally within heavy industrial machinery.
* Proficiency with electrical CAD software for drafting and design.
* Ability to specify components and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
* Competence in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
* Engineering qualification at Level 3 or equivalent experience (apprenticeship/training acceptable).
Desirable Skills & Experience:
* Professional registration (IEng or CEng).
* Experience with PLC software programming and commissioning.
* Knowledge of functional safety and related standards.
* Previous experience in wiring, site installation, or machinery commissioning.
* HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
