Position Overview: The Voice Engineer is responsible for configuring, monitoring, and maintaining voice services and associated infrastructure throughout their lifecycle Responsibilities: Secure configuration and management of Sipcom voice solutions and platforms · Undertake project tasks as guided by manager and architects Carryout and report on project deliverables for Project Managers Provide escalated voice application and infrastructure support for BAU support teams Monitor and react to key infrastructure alarms and metrics · Identify risks in infrastructure or applications and report to security and/or technology peers Carry out changes in line with process and customer and Sipcom requirements Work with engineers and architects to evaluate and create solutions for customer requirements. Backup, DR and BCP Implementation and Testing Ensure configuration is documented and knowledge is transfer to wider technology, delivery and support teams. Ticket ownership. Communication - maintain excellent communications with all employees, clients, and customers. Proactively look for opportunities to improve via automation, service improvements or new solutions Qualification and Experience: Essential: Voice technology experience with extensive knowledge of SIP Experience of configuring and managing Session Border Controllers (SBCs) Configuration and management of PSTN integration with cloud UC platforms; MS Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and coordinate multiple project tasks. Knowledge of wider telephony products such as Contact Centres, PBX's, Trader Platforms Ability to articulate technical details for non-technical audiences. In depth troubleshooting of voice issues using tools such as VOIP Monitor and Wireshark Preferred: Scripting and automation skills; ability to identify areas for automation and develop solutions. Knowledge of voice regulatory requirements Bulk provisioning of end-user devices such as Polycom, Yealink etc. · Professional vendor level certifications.
