Leeds Law School at Leeds Beckett University is seeking an experienced, organised, and proactive individual to join our vibrant academic community in the dual role of School Secretary and Personal Assistant to the Dean.
About the Role: In this pivotal role, you'll provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the Dean of Leeds Law School. Your duties will encompass managing the Dean's schedule, facilitating effective communication across the School, organising meetings, events, and committees, as well as supporting broader administrative functions critical to the smooth running of our dynamic Law School.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Efficient diary management, scheduling meetings, and appointments for the Dean.
2. Acting as the first point of contact for internal and external enquiries to the Dean's office.
3. Preparing agendas, documentation, reports and minutes for key meetings.
4. Coordinating school-level administrative tasks, supporting the academic leadership team.
5. Managing sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
About You: You will have exceptional organisational and communication skills, a keen eye for detail, excellent levels of English and proven experience managing administrative processes in a professional or educational setting, sometimes under pressure. Your proactive attitude, ability to multitask, and outstanding interpersonal skills will make you an invaluable asset to our team.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
1. Experience in a similar administrative role, ideally within higher education or legal environments.
2. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
4. Demonstrable capability in managing competing priorities under pressure.
5. Discretion and reliability when handling confidential information.
