Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday Location: Hybrid remote - Head Office Long Eaton Salary: Up to £30,000-£40,000 dependent on qualifications and experience Benefits: 50% childcare discount, wellness day and much more Purpose & Vision The Food Safety Advisor is responsible for ensuring that all nursery settings within the group meet high standards for nutrition, food safety, and procurement. The role involves oversight of menus development and nutrition, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and creating a positive culture of food and nutritions. Meaningful Relationships Working closely with our cooks and chefs who prepare meals and snacks at our nurseries, to understand both their challenges and passions. Inspiring and educating those working directly with the children to ensure that mealtimes are safe, fun and meaningful experiences. Important Tasks Coordinate the development of balanced nutritious menus influenced by EYFS requirements, and children’s dietary needs. Collaborate with nursery chefs/cooks to create varied, culturally inclusive meal options. Ensure all nurseries comply with food safety and hygiene regulations, including Food Standards Agency (FSA) guidelines and HACCP principles Objectives & Impact 1. Conduct regular food hygiene audits across all sites and recommend improvements where necessary to ensure 5 ratings throughout 2. Monitor food storage, preparation, and serving practices to prevent contamination or food-related illnesses 3. Provide guidance on best practices for preparing and serving meals to young children. 4. Ensure a robust allergen management system is in place and adhered to across all nurseries. Essential skills Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Food Safety & Hygiene. Strong knowledge with HACCP and allergen management.
