Job Description:
This is an ideal opportunity for someone that wants to progress their career in sales. We are looking for someone who has a passion for science, practical lab experience, and has shown sales proficiency. The candidate will provide support for the product portfolio and establish internal and external relationships, primarily using video conferencing, telephone, email, and other technology within the defined territory.
The successful candidate will use product features and benefits to identify and qualify leads, initiate the sales process, and effectively promote the assigned product portfolio and services to exceed the assigned sales plan across all markets.
The primary objective of the position is to build positive relationships with customers and channels over the phone to achieve sales.
Key Functions
PLAN PERFORMANCE AND SALES SKILLS
1. Coordinate the entire sales process for assigned products. Demonstrate use of telephone selling skills, such as making excellent opening statements, connecting with the customer, establishing relationships, asking open-ended and high-gain questions to identify needs, provide solutions using our products, crafting the value proposition, and closing the deal.
2. Achieve or exceed the territory sales plan by supporting the other Sales team members, including Channels and ICPs, to close technical sales in assigned portfolio, developing incremental business in existing accounts, and conducting cold calls to develop new opportunities for the focus products, and traveling to visit some key customers.
3. Participate in sales, product and systems training, marketing campaigns, and special projects as presented by the Company to develop appropriate selling.
PRODUCT PRIORITISATION
1. Remain current with the products in terms of scientific and company innovation.
2. Be the technical guide of the products supporting the sales team's knowledge and closing opportunities.
3. Maintain and build our customer database through the Company’s customer relations management software (CRM).
4. Prospect and develop relationships with new customers. Coordinate ongoing customer relationships with a particular focus on upselling and cross-selling. Attain or exceed assigned sales, profit, and market share goals.
5. Develop and implement an annual sales plan for handling assigned territory and products, updated quarterly.
6. Make outbound telephone calls to all levels and functional areas of an organisation where purchasing decisions are made.
7. Apply data sources to analyze and develop sales opportunities with the greatest return on investment. Communicate key competitor activities, market trends, and changing customer development plans and priorities, which includes emerging customers.
COMMUNICATION, WRITTEN AND ORAL
1. Regularly provide written and verbal communication of successes, development opportunities, etc. to improve the overall operating efficiency of the team and the region.
2. Engage with research scientists at all accounts for product information, sales presentations, and information.
3. Communicate account objectives and action plans to management via daily interactive updates, monthly summary reports, and other communication vehicles.
4. Ensure opportunities are logged in the CRM system (SFDC) and updated regularly.
TIME MANAGEMENT
1. Complete assigned tasks and reports in a timely and complete manner while increasing prime calling periods.
2. Meet all sales call objectives.
3. Develop skills to handle territory sales activities.
TECHNICAL COMPREHENSION
1. Achieve daily customer phone contact to provide product and relevant information for all aspects of gaining and servicing the business.
2. Develop product knowledge sufficient to conduct an effective telephone sales presentation.
3. Learn existing and potential customer status regarding Company and competitors’ products.
4. Support marketing programs and programs in other territories as assigned by the Sales Manager.
Education:
1. Degree level education preferably Life Science related. PhD is a benefit.
Experience:
1. Previous experience of having worked in a lab preferred.
2. Previous sales experience preferably in life sciences.
3. 80% in the office and 20% in the field visiting customers.
4. General knowledge of product portfolio.
5. Excellent digital literacy.
6. Proficient in English, written & oral. Other languages would be a plus.
