The BI Analytics Specialist role forms part of a busy BI team responsible for supporting the team with the design, implementation, and review of the BI Information System (Analytics platform). You will be skilled in using statistical methods and techniques. The role also includes high level analytical support for the senior analysts to deliver cutting edge intelligence and insight using complex, sensitive, and contentious information across the Ambulance Sector locally and regionally. Therefore, significant experience within a BI team would be an advantage., To be responsible for supporting and development of the BI Information system (Analytics System) which covers the whole organisation. This includes the data flow from various other information systems into the data warehouse and out into the reporting Analytics system. This includes data governance and providing a lead role with all aspects of the system. Develop key relationships with Senior Management, the Board, and key partners such as Commissioners, other Trusts, NHS England and NHS Digital. This includes providing and receiving highly complex, highly sensitive or highly contentious information where there are significant barriers to acceptance which need to be overcome using a high level of interpersonal and communication skills. Strong inter-personal skills required with the ability to explain and present reports to a wide ranging non-Technical Audience. Train end users on the technical abilities of Power BI and Office 365 applications across the trust and within the BI Team., Provide full admin for the Analytics Platform including resolving any issues with reports, setting up new workspaces, user access and data gateways. Lead on the innovation of the of the trust BI Information (Analytics platform) utilising cutting edge technology such as SQL and other reporting tools (such as Power BI, Python, R, Power Automate, Power Apps and AI). Responsible for planning the development of data analytics platform including utilising all the latest technology within Power BI and other office 365 applications (such as Data Flow/Power Apps). Design ways for data to flow from the end use through our data warehouse or SharePoint and into reports utilising key technology such as Power Automate and Data flow. Interrogate relational databases and the Data Warehouse to produce reports and analysis by understanding the underlining data and making recommendations to the senior members of the BI team. In particular, work with Senior Analysts to refine the aggregate datasets suitable for the BI Analytics Platform and setting up stored procedures/views to interrogate the data. Provide analysis and interpretation on complex, sensitive and contentious data or datasets taken from multiple sources and organisations. To fully understand all relevant data (Local, Regional and National) and benchmarking that is available to the BI Team and use innovative ways to incorporate that into reporting/analysis. Detailed understanding of all the underlining service lines and the datasets used to support that service. Develop the BI Governance approach and work to review these processes are carried out effectively. Working with Stakeholders to agree and refine specifications to achieve the best outcome using an Agile process. Ability to set up technical working group with other similar trusts to develop the Analytics platform.
The role will be responsible for leading on projects to develop analytics solutions that provide the Trust with informative self-serve reports and insight that aid decision making. Experience of SQL, RPA, Microsoft PowerBI, R/Python and the wider Microsoft Power Platform (Automate, Apps) would also be of an advantage. Experience of working with large data from complex systems is advantageous. Must have relevant up to date work experience.
