AWE are looking for a Portfolio Operations Manager (PMO) to join our team.
Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: Starting from £62,440 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)
Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. We will consider flexible working requests.
Let us introduce the role:
Reporting to the Enterprise Portfolio Manager Service Lead, you will provide leadership to the Portfolio Management Team, coordinating Portfolio Definition, Management and Governance activities to enable Portfolio optimisation and effective decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work as part of the Enterprise Portfolio Management team to build and shape a Portfolio Management capability for AWE, supporting the business transformation efforts.
* Ensure the integration/interfaces between ePMO Services and supporting management offices.
* Supporting delivery of the Enterprise Portfolio Management services through the provision of subject matter expertise.
* The coaching and mentoring of junior members of their community.
* Build relationships and be able to work flexibly with a range of stakeholders across the business to embed awareness of the new process, more consistent ways of working and high-quality outputs.
* Defining and delivering continuous improvement activity for the discipline area on behalf of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Service Lead.
* Highlight dependencies, risks and issues within workstreams and collaborate with portfolio managers to ensure they are tracked for effective delivery.
* Ensure compliance to all P3M Governance processes.
Key Accountabilities:
* Manage the team to deliver the core services for the Enterprise Portfolio Management team including change, portfolio definition, governance, assumptions and dependencies.
* Design, develop and embed the Enterprise Portfolio Management Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
* Monitor performance of the Enterprise Portfolio Management services to ensure they are carried out efficiently, coordinated and integrated.
* Ensure the application of appropriate procedures, processes and systems to ensure the quality and consistency of data supported by your team.
* Own the resourcing demand for the area and ensure adequate plans are in place to fill positions.
Whilst not to be considered a checklist, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:
* Graduate level of qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
* Project Management practitioner qualification.
* Strong change management skills, through robust engagement with people, connecting with empathy, and excellent communication.
* Strength in motivating others.
* Excellent skills in making sense of complexity.
* Able to demonstrate tenacity and resilience professionally when working in a pressurised and fast-paced changing environment.
