Job Title: Transport Manager Reports To: Depot Manager Brief Overview Managing the day-to-day running of a fast moving distribution operation. Staff engagement, training, management and progression. Legal and Internal Audit compliance Core Duties: Coordinating and controlling the daily delivery schedule Regular review and update where necessary of delivery service charter Delegating work to staff and managing their workload to ensure first class customer satisfaction Conducting delivery crew debriefs to ensure all relevant information is collected and communicated forward if required Arranging and controlling the Preventative Maintenance schedule for all fleet vehicles Maintaining the condition of the delivery equipment and arranging for necessary repairs Responsible for monitoring tachograph records and implementing improvement plans where necessary Implementing and enforcing Health and Safety policies and procedures. To analyse data to monitor performance and plan improvements. Overseeing the recruitment of new staff, including interviews, training and inductions. Ensuring adequate staff levels to cover for absences and peaks in workload. Promoting staff development, training and disciplinary matters. Administration of holiday requests and absence monitoring. Additional Duties to include: Working with Stock/warehouse team to ensure depot output targets are met Regular Communication with office and sales teams to achieve common goals Key holder responsibilities Customer Site visits, as required Assist Depot Manager and Warehouse Manager with Monthly H&S audit Key Skills: Use of Microsoft Office eg.Excel for spreadsheets and records Full use of Trinity system and Cyber query (Training to be provided where required) Able to work as part of a team or independently Good communication skills essential Planning and Organisation Ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing environment Specialist knowledge/experience of Multi drop transport operations Essential Requirements Transport Manager CPC IOSH Previous experience with managing an O License fleet ADZN1_UKTJ
