Job Description
As the Industrial Controls & Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, installing, managing, and maintaining equipment and software on PLC and SCADA systems used to monitor and control plant systems at Royston.
You will provide software and controls input for projects, including modifications to existing systems or new installations. Your Responsibilities
* Provide expert knowledge of PLC systems, preferably Omron and Allen-Bradley.
* Provide expert knowledge of SCADA systems, preferably Wonderware (Intouch) and Inductive Automation’s Ignition.
* Support project teams during initial design stages by advising on software and controls equipment selection to enhance plant reliability and maintainability.
* Design, develop, install, manage, and maintain equipment and software as required.
* Implement and review controls strategies to meet current and future business needs.
* Apply recognized standards for alarm management and safety-related control functions to ensure process safety.
* Interpret technical drawings for planning, executing, and specifying materials.
Minimum Requirements
* Hold a formal Electronic/Controls qualification such as Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent recognized training.
* Skills in PLC systems (Omron, Allen Bradley) and SCADA systems, with experience in Wonderware preferred.
* Experience with ECI in large-scale manufacturing, chemical facilities, or plants within a controls/software role.
* Knowledge of network infrastructure, architecture, and administration.
* Proficiency with Windows Server (2008, 2012, 2016), Microsoft SQL Server (2000, 2008, 2012), Active Directory, Terminal Services, and Thin Client architecture.
* Ability to read and interpret instrument and electrical drawings.
